Project:   The Living World Visitor Center

Client:     Saint Louis Zoo

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

A complete renovation of 40,000 sq. ft., two-story, mixed-use building, which serves as a Zoo entrance, a new travelling Exhibit, a new gift shop, and renovation of a major restaurant. It also houses the Education, Marketing and Human Resources and other administrative offices.

The main goal of this project is to create the nation’s best visitor experience among zoos and aquariums.

The strategy that was conceptualized involved moving the travelling exhibit, which was by the front gate, to the middle of the park—a better location for an attraction.

The freed up space will become a Welcome Center with a new entrance. A spacious and inviting sense of arrival for visitors.

JCO provided Master planning, Design, Theming and Graphics.  Concept through project completion. In partnership with Ottolino Hubner and Winters; Architect of record and Project Managers.
